fun fun fun!!

sewing, dying, knitting! I love creating, especially dying and sewing..oh and knitting..in that order haha! Don't really know what to write but these are a few things that I have made, dyed etc. My newest thing is the knitting I have just started to learn, I will add a pic of the wool I dyed and will add the finished product once complete.
The dolls, made from the chibi doll pattern, very cute I have made one for my youngest daughter and the other for the daughter of someone who was kind to me during a difficult time.
There is a blanket which I made for my Kai, also some nappies and a carrier :)
And a few things I have dyed.
Just thought I would add the top 2 nappies are made from the fattycakes pattern, and the third from my own pattern, which need a few modifications.
The felted doll is not finished yet :P

The gorgeous very hungry catterpillar nappy was made by Lesley at http://cherubskiss.com/
You can see all the gorgeous things she makes here~

Long overdue update.

I have loads to update! Been doing heaps of sewing, dying, and gardening along side the time consuming job of being a mumma.
Vege patch is doing well, we have gotten ENORMOUS zucchini's, yummy beans, cucumber, corn, and strawberries. We have also learned a few lessons about what grows well and also position of the plants in regards to water sun ratio. Kids are loving getting involved and of course it tastes divine! I will add another post for the craft stuff as I am having a few drama's with my blog layout.

for Meg

Yesterday morning my friend asked me to make a pair of pants Like A's for her daughter. So here are some pants for Meg, luckily E is about the same size (E is taller) so I had a little model :)

We have pants!!

My sewing machine and I made friends today, at long last! I made this little pair of flares for my youngest daughter and I am pretty happy with how they turned out.
These were upcycled from a vintage looking curtain I grabbed at the op shop a while ago, and finished off with a fabric covered button :0)

~A special relaxing day~

Ahhh! Uni is finally over for my wonderful husband, and after a couple of weekends that were jam packed with study this weekend we have a great family day out. A leisurely lunch, a trip to Cooberrie park wildlife sanctuary a stroll at the beach. Here are some pictures taken on the day, we both took our cameras but within 2 minutes the batteries were flat hahaha...a little tricky to plan ahead with our sleep deprived nights. So the pictures were captured with a camera phone. There was even an old see saw, I couldn't believe it was still there! I had been on the same one 16 years ago!! Was pretty cool for the girls to have a go on the same one I had played on all those years before~they don't seem to have them at parks these days :(

Pizza making 101!

Last night the girls made their own pizza's! They had so much fun, unfortunately the power went out (the transformer was leaking oil eeek!) right after I popped them in the oven! Took 3 hours for it to be fixed. They got to eat them today though :) and they were a hit! When Kai is a bit bigger I will go back to making my own bases~ the girls were happy with the store bought ones anyway.

Our vegie patch!!

We planted out the eden seeds we sprouted yesterday, into our very first vegie patch :) we have been growing herbs for ages so I am excited to see how we go. The girls had such a great time helping us plant out the seedlings, it was a lovely way to spend the afternoon.
We have~
tomatoes, zucchini ,egg plant, capsicum, sweet corn climbing beans, chili (for the herb patch) cabbage, wheat grass and I think a couple of others I can't remember right now.

Baby Kai

Kai is settling in beautifully, he is such a happy and content baby. He has grown quite a bit already they really do grow far too fast :( He can lift his head and has rolled over 3 times, quite mobile for such a young baby. His sisters are so proud and they have all adjusted so well, things couldn't have worked out any better really. Some more up to date pictures of my boy.

Welcome to our beautiful baby boy

25 days ago DH and I welcomed our son Kai James into the world he is PERFECT and we love him to bits. Here are a few pictures of our gorgeous boy :)

My family :)

Soon I will have a new baby to steal the spotlight for a bit so I thought I should add some pics of my beautiful family. These were taken at about 6am at the dam in Mount Morgan. Daddy and the girls went and put their redclaw pots in the night before, we had a very nice haul in the morning! They were delicious too!

Here is my 37 week pic, not much size difference to last week.

Playing the waiting game :)

Not a lot to report. I am really starting to notice myself slowing down at this point as I can feel my body preparing to deliver my baby :( Its a shame my body doesn't know that I am having a c section~then it wouldn't have to work so hard...So I am waiting 15 days to go until my booking, and my Lovely husband has just gone away to great Keppel island for a science camp~he wont be back for 4 days. I am taking it very easy while he is gone I would be very upset if he was not around for the birth.
I am sure he is going to learn loads of valuable information while away~! I hope he has lots of fun, as I am sure we will both be very tired soon.

Whats for dinner on this meat free Monday??

Well, its meat free Monday so what to cook? I have some super yummy home grown pumpkins here so I guess while its still winter Roast pumpkin soup..mmmm.
I attempted making my baby blanket yesterday :( Sadly sewing stretch fabric and cotton together was not so easy! I also did something to the over locker..will have to investigate today as to what that was? I have my first sewing lesson tomorrow and yes I desperately need it..

Yummy Fabric!

Well yesterday I went shopping for fabric for my baby blanket project. This will be my first project and I am so excited about making something for my little baby. I have had my sewing machine for a year and have used it once...oh how sad:) But thats going to change! I have booked a sewing lesson for next week so should be good to go from then! So happy with the price of the lesson too its FREE! I bought my machine there and even though it was so long ago they are still going to give me my free tutorial! How cool is that!

AARRGGHHH No sleep!

Well I have 4 weeks to go as of today. Here is a pic of my giant belly (giant for me hehe). NO sleep last night my hips no longer stay in socket. Cant wait to meet our new little baby!

Ummm...ok then??

Well this morning coming back from town I saw a joey on the side of the road. This little guy has been there in the same spot for 5 days now. So I tell hubby to pull over, the poor thing looked like he was in so much pain (like a 100 year old with arthritis). When he was still we could see he had been burnt up the arms and legs. Due to his size and my current condition there was no way we could put him in the car..So the next best thing was to call RSPCA which I did as soon as I got home. They put me on to a wildlife carer in the area (they connected the call). She was the rudest human I have ever come across! She said "whats the problem?" I told her the details and she went on to say that she was waiting for visitors and would come later in the afternoon..I said that's fine he is eating and has been there all week. She then tells me I should go wait with him until she gets there, I told her that was not possible and I asked how long she thought she might be.
Well she then went on to tell me that if they drive up here (40mins) from town it will be to destroy him as they don't have the facilities to care for him..I said are you not a wildlife carer???? She said that WC's have to pay for all expenses fuel and vets etc out of there own pocket so they best she could do was destroy him...What the heck!?! So I hung up on her at this point as she was yelling at me and making NO sense! Why on earth would someone become a wildlife carer if they felt that way?? So I rang RSPCA back reported her and they sent someone else..Thankfully!!

Time for action!

Ok, so I have been meaning to do this for a while but just didn't know where to start. I am hoping this blog will help inspire me to put some ideas I have regarding sustainable living into practice. I want my children to be able to experience a long and happy life on this earth, and want to teach them how to do their part in looking after it.
Thanks to my DH Luke my environmental conscience has been heightened to places I never really wanted to go~hehe! Now I am aware I have no choice but to do what I can, right? So I am going to start small and work my way up showing my kids as I go. I intend to add these ideas as I have them to my blog. It would make me very happy if just one person gets some inspiration from this and starts doing the same.
I used to keep a diary, but since I am spending more and more time on the internet figured this would be a perfect replacement.
